A note from our clinical team, every child struggles with a math concept at some point; that alone isn't dyscalculia. We look for a persistent gap between a child's overall ability and their number sense, one that holds up across home and school despite good teaching. Our Approach
Five threads, woven into one plan
We don't hand out worksheets and hope. The NEST dyscalculia program runs five threads in parallel — and the case lead keeps them in conversation with each other and with the school.
Structured Numeracy, 1:1
The heart of the program. Explicit, systematic Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract teaching of number sense, fact fluency and problem-solving — multisensory, cumulative, and paced to the learner. Twice weekly, with a specialist who stays with the child.
Diagnostic Assessment
A full numeracy profile: subitising, magnitude comparison, fact retrieval, calculation and problem-solving — with a written report you can take to school.
Fact Fluency & Problem-Solving
Once number sense is secure, we build fluent recall and the strategy needed for multi-step problems — so math becomes usable, not just survivable.
